This single channel video was commissioned for the Tech Rider’s Dilemma exhibition (2023) – a project by Marginal Bucharest (RO) that tackles problems related to new media survival, heritage with a focus on art & science / technology and various forms of technical dysfunctions in electronic artworks, caused by the dynamics of obsolescence, practices based on improvisation.
The Sideman 5000 (the world’s first commercially available electromechanical drum machine) is a protagonist in several works – in this video the artist describes topics of obsolescence and repair.
